Arcade Fire’s front duo has announced the end of their marriage, yet they affirm their dedication to the band. Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, the lead vocalists of the Montreal indie rock group, disclosed their decision to separate via social media. They assured fans that while their personal relationship is changing, their creative partnership within Arcade Fire will persist.
Butler and Chassagne first crossed paths at McGill University during the band’s formation and later tied the knot in 2003. The band gained widespread recognition after their album “The Suburbs” clinched the Album of the Year award at the 2011 Grammy Awards.
Several years ago, there were allegations against Butler involving inappropriate sexual behavior by four individuals, as reported by music publication Pitchfork. Responding to these claims, Butler admitted to engaging in consensual relationships outside his marriage with Chassagne but vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
Recently, Arcade Fire unveiled their seventh studio album, “Pink Elephant,” and embarked on a new tour. In a statement released on Thursday, the band confirmed that despite their separation, the couple shares a deep bond of love, admiration, and mutual support as they raise their 12-year-old son together.
