“Love Island Contestant Disqualified for Using Racial Slur”

Alannah Keyser, a 21-year-old contestant, has been disqualified from the ongoing season of Love Island USA for using a racial slur in a previously surfaced online video. Keyser, a college student from Miami, made a dramatic entrance during the Casa Amor episodes of the reality dating series before the incident led to her removal.

Shortly after her arrival at the villa on June 21, a video resurfaced showing Keyser singing along to a song containing a racial slur. The song in question was identified as rapper Roddy Ricch’s track “The Box.”

In a typical fashion for the show, narrator Iain Stirling announced Keyser’s departure during Thursday night’s episode by stating, “Alannah has left Casa Amor.” Fans noticed a decline in Keyser’s screen time after her initial appearance on Season 8, where she seemed to connect with contestant Zach Georgiou.

This incident is not the first of its kind in the season or the Love Island franchise. Prior to the show’s premiere, Vasana Montgomery was removed from the Season 8 cast after videos of her using a racial slur resurfaced.

In a similar vein, previous seasons have also seen contestants being removed for similar reasons. Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega were both removed from Season 7 due to the resurfacing of clips where they used racial slurs. Escobar issued an apology on Instagram, acknowledging her mistake, while Ortega expressed agreement with the network’s decision to remove her from the show.

Despite efforts to contact Keyser for a response, there was no reply from her before publication.
