Céline Dion Releases Romantic French Single “Dansons”

Céline Dion has released a new single titled “Dansons,” a gentle and romantic French-language ballad that translates to “Let’s dance” in English. The accompanying music video showcases romantic scenes in Paris with different couples dancing freely in public spaces.

This release comes ahead of Dion’s upcoming return to the stage with 16 shows scheduled at the Paris La Défense Arena from September 12 to October 17. Speculation about her comeback was confirmed after mysterious signs featuring lyrics from Dion’s popular songs appeared around Paris, hinting at her imminent return.

“Dansons,” written by acclaimed songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman, marks Dion’s first French release in more than a decade and her first original song in years. Her most recent release was in 2023 for the film soundtrack of “Love Again.” Dion and Goldman previously collaborated in 2016 on Dion’s “Encore un soir” and her 1995 album “D’eux,” which went on to become the best-selling French-language album of all time.

The singer had to cancel her Courage world tour in 2023 due to health issues related to stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that severely impacted her singing abilities. Following the tour’s postponement in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dion made a public singing comeback in July 2024 during the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris and later at a fashion show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, honoring designer Elie Saab’s 45-year career.
