Prince Harry Jokes About Cap Controversy at Toronto Visit

Prince Harry made light-hearted remarks in Toronto about feeling pressured to wear a Los Angeles Dodgers hat during a recent World Series game against the Blue Jays. The Duke of Sussex, along with his wife Meghan Markle, attended Game 4 of the Fall Classic at Los Angeles’ Dodgers Stadium, donning the home team’s cap.

During a visit to Sunnybrook Hospital’s veterans centre in Toronto, Prince Harry was gifted a Toronto Blue Jays hat by the staff. He humorously mentioned that his choice to wear the Dodgers cap at the World Series was not entirely voluntary, especially given the eventual loss of the Blue Jays in Game 7.

Aside from the Blue Jays hat, Prince Harry was also presented with an army helmet painted by residents and a book containing stories of centenarian veterans during his two-day visit to the city leading up to Remembrance Day.

Prince Harry’s previous visit to Canada was in February, where he participated in the Invictus Games in British Columbia. Following that, he and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, briefly resided in Canada before relocating to the U.S. in 2020.

In 2020, the couple made headlines by announcing their decision to step back from their roles as senior royals. Subsequently, Buckingham Palace confirmed the following year that Harry and Meghan would not be resuming their former positions as working members of the Royal Family.
