“Taylor Swift Tops Spotify’s All-Time Streams”

Taylor Swift has emerged as the top artist on Spotify’s inaugural list of the most streamed artists of all time, released on Thursday. Following closely behind is Puerto Rican sensation, Bad Bunny. Notably, Bad Bunny claimed the title of Spotify’s most played artist in 2025, overthrowing Swift, who had held the position for the previous two years. The dynamic between the two artists has seen them exchange the top spot over recent years, with Swift reigning from 2020 to 2023.

In the overall rankings, Drake secures the third position as Spotify’s most streamed artist, with The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Eminem, Kanye West, Travis Scott, BTS, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, J Balvin, Rihanna, Coldplay, Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Juice WRLD following suit in consecutive order.

Despite inquiries, Spotify remained mum on its data collection methodology when approached by The Associated Press. Alongside unveiling the top streamed artists globally, Spotify also curated lists of the most streamed albums, songs, podcasts, and audiobooks as part of its 20th-anniversary celebration.

Streaming has become a dominant revenue source for the music industry, accounting for 82% of total revenue in the U.S., as reported by the Recording Industry Association of America. Spotify, founded in Sweden in April 2006, holds the top position as the largest music platform, commanding over 31% of the market share, boasting 751 million users and 290 million subscribers across 184 markets.

Among the notable mentions on Spotify’s all-time most streamed albums list are Bad Bunny’s “Un Verano Sin Ti,” The Weeknd’s “Starboy,” Ed Sheeran’s “÷ (Deluxe),” Olivia Rodrigo’s “SOUR,” and SZA’s “SOS.” Similarly, the list of most streamed songs features hits like The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” and The Neighbourhood’s “Sweater Weather,” among others.

This data underscores the immense impact streaming platforms like Spotify have had on the music industry landscape and the consumption habits of music enthusiasts worldwide.
