“Panasonic Toaster Oven Recall: Electric Shock Hazard”

A safety recall has been initiated for Panasonic Flashxpress Toaster Ovens distributed in the United States and Canada due to a potential electric shock hazard. The recall specifically pertains to Flashxpress toaster ovens with model numbers NB-G205S and NB-G200SVA, which can be located on the product label at the back of the toaster oven.

The issue revolves around the power cord of the toaster oven. Panasonic mentioned in its voluntary recall notification that there might be insufficient insulation as a protective fiberglass sleeve may not entirely cover the cord, posing a risk of electric shock or fire.

Panasonic, in collaboration with Health Canada and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, has advised consumers to cease using the affected toaster ovens immediately and return them to the company for a refund. For further details, consumers can access Panasonic’s recall site or contact Panasonic Canada at 1-888-422-6296.

According to Panasonic, approximately 2,184 of the impacted products were sold in Canada, while around 11,500 were sold in the U.S. from November 2025 to March 2026. As of June 15, Health Canada has not reported any injuries linked to the power cord issue in Canada. In the U.S., Panasonic has received five reports of circuit breakers tripping concerning the toaster ovens, but no injuries have been reported.
