Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently married music industry executive Allison Hsu. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News. The festivities were initially reported by TMZ to have taken place in France.
Having officially started dating towards the end of 2022, Liu and Hsu announced their engagement on social media during a trip to Paris in May 2025. Subsequently, Hsu shared images from various wedding-related events in Mexico and a summer trip to Paris with Liu.
The couple has been open about their relationship, frequently sharing posts about each other on social media. Liu has also discussed their bond in interviews, expressing feelings of support, care, and love towards each other.
Originally from China and raised in Toronto, Liu is set to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Marvel character has propelled him to international stardom following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience,” where he played Jung Kim.
In addition to his Marvel role, Liu has been involved in various projects, including playing Ken in the hit film “Barbie,” voice acting in the animated movie “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy thriller series “The Copenhagen Test.” He also returned to his theater background with a performance in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year, marking his Broadway debut.
