This victory also ensured him the men’s overall season title for the second consecutive year. Dandjinou’s triumph in the men’s 1,500-meter final propelled him to an unassailable lead in the season standings, earning him back-to-back Crystal Globe accolades.
In a closely contested race, Dandjinou clocked a time of 2 minutes, 16.600 seconds to claim his seventh individual gold medal of the season. His compatriot Felix Roussel from Sherbrooke, Que., closely followed, securing the silver medal with a time of 2:16.670. Expressing his satisfaction, Dandjinou shared, “It feels great to share the podium with Felix Roussel. We’ve been talking about it since the beginning of the season.”
Sun Long from China completed the podium, clinching the bronze medal with a time of 2:16.772. Dandjinou further demonstrated his dominance by also winning a silver medal in the men’s 500m final, solidifying his World Tour title in that distance as well. With a total of 832 points in the season, Dandjinou maintained a substantial lead over his closest rival, Pietro Sighel from Italy, who accrued 594 points.
