Authorities in Arizona are urging residents living near Nancy Guthrie’s residence to share any surveillance footage capturing suspicious individuals or vehicles observed in the month leading up to her disappearance. The call for assistance covers a three-kilometre radius surrounding the neighborhoods where the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie was last seen 12 days ago, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.
Law enforcement officials, both federal and local, have been conducting door-to-door inquiries in Tucson neighborhoods near the 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie’s residence and her other daughter’s nearby home, which she visited shortly before going missing.
Several pieces of potential evidence, including a pair of gloves, have been recovered and are currently undergoing analysis, as confirmed by the sheriff’s department.
A tent was briefly set up at the entrance of Nancy Guthrie’s home where traces of her blood were detected early in the investigation. A doorbell camera at the location also captured images of an individual wearing a mask on the night she vanished. The FBI has now labeled this individual as a suspect and released updated descriptors, including height and build details, along with photos of a specific backpack worn by the suspect.
The FBI Phoenix has increased the reward to $100,000 US for any information leading to Nancy Guthrie’s whereabouts. The hope is that the updated suspect description will help focus the influx of tips received by the FBI following the disappearance.
