Canadian Screen Awards week has commenced with the announcement of the Children’s Television Awards winners during the first of six ceremonies held in Toronto. A total of 16 winners were recognized at the event.
Josette Jorge was honored as the Best supporting performer in the children’s or youth category for her role in “The Unstoppable Jenny Garcia.” She proudly posed with her Canadian Screen Award after the win.
Other notable winners include “Toopy and Binoo Fabulous Adventures: Giggling Flufferoos” for Best writing in the pre-school category, “Thomas & Friends: The Christmas Letter Express” for Best original music in animation, and Will Arnett for Best voice performance in “Super Team Canada.”
Katie Boland received the award for Best direction in the children’s or youth category for “Macy Murdoch — Tick, Tick, Gone.” Additionally, “Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum — I am Jackie Robinson” secured awards for Best writing and Best direction in the animation category.
The Canada Media Fund kids’ choice award went to “Mittens & Pants,” while “Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood” won for Best pre-school program or series. “Odd Squad” emerged victorious in multiple categories, including Best lead performer, Best children’s or youth fiction program or series, and Best children’s or youth non-fiction program or series.
Moreover, the animated series “Super Team Canada” clinched two awards – Best animated program or series and Best voice performance for Will Arnett.
The Canadian Screen Awards celebration is in full swing, recognizing outstanding achievements in children’s television programming.
