Inuit advocacy groups and Greenlanders residing in Canada strongly oppose the idea of the U.S. taking control of their land, emphasizing their fatigue with being pawns in geopolitical strategies orchestrated by distant leaders.

Sara Olsvig, the chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Council and a former member of both the Greenlandic and Danish parliaments, stated unequivocally, “There is no superior colonizer.” Greenlandic and Danish officials have highlighted the potential implications of such a move on the geopolitical landscape.
