“Ottawa Redblacks Appoint Dinwiddie as Head Coach/GM”

The Ottawa Redblacks have appointed a new head coach and general manager. Ryan Dinwiddie, who led the Toronto Argonauts to two Grey Cup championships during his five-year tenure, has taken over coaching responsibilities from Bob Dyce. Dyce was removed from his position after Ottawa’s 4-14 season, which resulted in them missing the CFL playoffs.

In addition to coaching, Dinwiddie has also been named the general manager, replacing Shawn Burke, who was elevated to the role of vice-president of football operations in December 2021. Dinwiddie’s move from Toronto to Ottawa was a step up in his career progression within the Argonauts organization.

Ottawa’s absence from the CFL playoffs in five of the last six seasons follows their defeat to the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 Grey Cup with a score of 27-16.
