Netflix Canada has announced the upcoming adaptation of another successful romance novel by Carley Fortune. The streaming service has commissioned a 10-episode series based on Fortune’s third book, “This Summer Will Be Different,” set on Prince Edward Island. The story follows Lucy, who, while vacationing on the island, encounters Felix, sparking a passionate connection despite the complication that Felix is her best friend Bridget’s younger brother. As events unfold, Lucy grapples with her feelings and the complexities of the situation.

The TV series will be filmed in Toronto and on Prince Edward Island to stay true to the book’s settings. Carley Fortune, a Toronto-based writer and journalist, expressed her excitement about bringing the love story to life on screen, drawing inspiration from her personal experiences on the beautiful island. Fortune’s previous novels include “One Golden Summer,” “Every Summer After,” and “Meet Me at the Lake,” with her latest book, “Our Perfect Storm,” set to be published soon.

Moreover, “Every Summer After” is currently in production for a television adaptation titled “Every Year After” on Amazon Prime Video. Additionally, “Meet Me At the Lake” was optioned for a film adaptation in 2023 by Netflix and Archewell Productions, owned by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
