Mikaël Kingsbury Wins Silver at World Cup Moguls

Canadian freestyle skier Mikaël Kingsbury secured a silver medal at a World Cup moguls event held in Beidahu, China. The athlete from Deux-Montagnes, Quebec, earned a score of 85.91 points, placing second behind Japanese freestyle skier Ikuma Horishima with 86.57 points. Sweden’s Filip Gravenfors claimed the bronze medal with a score of 83.79.

Kingsbury, the current record holder for all-time World Cup wins with 96 victories, has accumulated six gold and three silver medals in 11 events this season. At 32 years old, he maintains his lead in the men’s overall moguls World Cup standings with 575 points, holding a 137-point advantage over Horishima.

In the women’s competition at Beidahu, American skiers dominated the podium, with Jaelin Kauf securing gold with a score of 82.19, while Olivia Giaccio took the bronze with 78.43 points. French skier Perrine Laffont claimed the silver medal. Maia Schwinghammer from Saskatoon was the sole Canadian representative, finishing in 12th place.
