Israel confirmed on Monday that the Red Cross had delivered the body of another deceased hostage from Gaza to the Israeli military, as stated by the Israeli prime minister’s office. The discovery brings the total number of remaining hostages’ bodies in Gaza to 12, with Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, facing challenges in locating them amidst the remnants of conflict.
The retrieval and transfer of deceased hostages’ bodies in Gaza have presented a significant hurdle to the Gaza plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. A spokesperson for the Israeli government mentioned that the militant group possesses knowledge of the bodies’ whereabouts.
To aid in the search process, Israel permitted an Egyptian technical team to collaborate with the Red Cross in locating the bodies. The team is utilizing excavator machines and trucks to explore areas beyond the designated yellow line in Gaza, where Israeli troops had initially withdrawn under Trump’s plan.
