Cineplex to Screen “Heated Rivalry” Queer Romance in Theatres

Exciting news for fans of “Heated Rivalry” as Cineplex announces nationwide screenings of the popular queer romance series in early November. The big screen experience will be available not only in Canada but also in the U.S., the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand.

Canadian viewers can enjoy a marathon screening of the entire first season on Nov. 8 or opt for viewing two episodes together on Nov. 6, 10, and 11. Fans will have the opportunity to relive the Crave/HBO show, known as “reheating,” at select theatres. For more information, visit Cineplex’s website.

In the U.S., over 650 theatres will showcase all six episodes starting from Nov. 6. Based on Rachel Reid’s novel, “Heated Rivalry” centers around the on-ice rivalry and private relationship of hockey stars Shane Hollander (Hudson Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Connor Storrie).

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions among fans, with some expressing joy over the opportunity to watch their favorite streaming show on the big screen. However, concerns were raised about the ticket prices, with one viewer questioning the value of paying for movie tickets to watch TV episodes.

These screenings also serve as a refresher for fans eagerly anticipating the second season, set to premiere in spring 2027. Additionally, series creator Jacob Tierney has released a book titled “I’ll Believe in Anything: The Making of Heated Rivalry,” providing insights into the show’s production process.
