Dabrowski and Mboko defeated Denmark’s Emma Kamper and Johanne Christine Svendsen in the doubles match, winning 6-2, 6-4 in 59 minutes to claim a 2-1 victory.
The Canadian duo showcased a strong performance with four aces and minimal errors, winning 62 out of 100 points available and converting three break points. They will face Mexico in a crucial match on Sunday, with the winner advancing to the 2026 qualifiers. Mexico previously defeated Denmark 2-1 in their Group A playoff.
Mboko also clinched a singles victory against Christine Svendsen, leveling the overall match score at 1-1. She demonstrated composure under pressure, winning 86% of her first-serve points and delivering 11 aces. The upcoming Canada-Mexico match will be live-streamed on CBC Sports and CBC Gem.
In another match, Cadence Brace of Toronto faced a tough loss to Rebecca Munk Mortensen in a three-set battle that lasted over three hours. Brace won the first set but ultimately fell short, with Mortensen showcasing a strong performance with a higher conversion rate in break points and match points saved.
