CF Montreal has terminated assistant coach Maxime Leconte following an internal disciplinary procedure. The Major League Soccer team made the announcement on Wednesday without disclosing the specific reason for Leconte’s dismissal, citing confidentiality. Leconte, a 35-year-old French native, had only been with the club for a brief period since joining the coaching staff in May. His termination comes after Marco Donadel was appointed as CF Montreal’s permanent head coach two weeks ago.
Donadel, who had been serving as interim head coach since March, led the team through a challenging season that concluded with a 6-18-10 record. CF Montreal had the youngest roster and the lowest payroll in Major League Soccer.
