The Montreal Canadiens have announced that forward Kirby Dach will be sidelined for the next four to six weeks due to a fractured foot. As a result, the team has brought up forward Joshua Roy from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Laval Rocket.
This injury adds to a series of setbacks for the Canadiens, with the recent news of forward Alex Newhook and defenceman Kaiden Guhle facing long-term absences following surgeries. Newhook had surgery on his right ankle, expecting to be out for four months, while Guhle underwent a procedure for a partially torn adductor muscle and is projected to miss eight to 10 weeks.
In the current season, Dach has recorded five goals and two assists in 15 games.
