“BTS Announces 2026 Comeback Album and World Tour”

The K-pop group BTS is gearing up for a highly anticipated comeback in spring 2026, announcing the release of a new album and a world tour. During a recent livestream on Weverse, all seven members – Jin, RM, V, Jimin, J-Hope, Jung Kook, and Suga – revealed their plans to collaborate on new music starting in July, emphasizing that the upcoming album will showcase each member’s individual perspectives and creativity.

Scheduled to be in the United States this month to commence work on their new music, BTS’s 2026 album will be their first since the 2022 anthology “Proof,” the 2021 Japanese compilation album “BTS, the Best,” and their last studio album “Be” in 2020. Additionally, the group confirmed a world tour, marking their first in almost four years, following the recent discharge of RM, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook from their mandatory military service in South Korea.

In South Korea, the majority of BTS members completed their military service, with Suga fulfilling his duty as a social service agent, an alternative to traditional military service. The oldest member, Jin, was discharged in June 2024, while J-Hope completed his service in October. Notably, BTS postponed their enlistment in 2020 after South Korea’s National Assembly revised the Military Service Act to allow K-pop stars to delay their conscription until the age of 30.
