“Blue Jays World Series Ticket Prices Skyrocket”

Ticket prices for the Toronto Blue Jays are on the rise as they head into Game 6 of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Blue Jays, known as “Canada’s team,” have not won a World Series since 1993 and are currently leading the series 3-2 after a recent victory.

Securing tickets for Friday’s game has been extremely challenging, and prices continue to climb. According to data from Victory Live, a company that tracks secondary-market transactions, the average price for Game 6 is over $2,000 US (approximately $2,800 Cdn), while a potential Game 7 could cost nearly $3,000 US (about $4,200 Cdn) on the resale market.

Reports indicate that prices have been steadily increasing each day leading up to Game 6. This surge in ticket costs has disappointed both devoted baseball fans and casual followers alike. Some sources have labeled this year’s World Series as the most expensive sporting event ever held in Canada.

At present, the cheapest available ticket on Ticketmaster is priced at $1,462.50 for a single seat in the Rogers Centre outfield district, with StubHub listing the lowest ticket at around $1,600. Comparatively, Game 6 prices are trailing last year’s Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows at Rogers Centre, which averaged $2,320 US.

If the Blue Jays and Dodgers advance to Game 7, ticket prices are expected to surpass last year’s tour prices. The exorbitant ticket costs have prompted Ontario Premier Doug Ford to address the issue, expressing concerns about potential price gouging in the market. Interestingly, Ford’s government had previously eliminated a law in 2019 that would have capped ticket resale prices at 50% above face value.
