Kendrick Lamar also had a successful night, clinching five Grammy awards, including record of the year for his collaboration with SZA on the track “luther.” With these wins, Lamar has now surpassed Jay-Z as the most awarded rapper in Grammy history, boasting a total of 27 wins.
Lady Gaga also had a victorious evening, securing four Grammy wins for her album “Mayhem” and hit single “Abracadabra,” earning accolades such as best pop vocal album and best dance pop recording. Additionally, Gaga’s Canadian producer Cirkut received recognition with two awards, including the prestigious producer of the year, non-classical.
Other notable winners at the ceremony included Billie Eilish for song of the year with “WILDFLOWER,” British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean for best new artist, and Joni Mitchell for best historical album with “Joni Mitchell Archives, Volume 4: The Asylum Years — 1976-1980.”
