A ship from Canada is currently immobilized in the Detroit River, positioned between downtown Detroit and downtown Windsor. The vessel, named Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin and measuring 225 meters in length, was en route to Quebec City when it became stuck in the river. The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed the ship’s situation, describing it as a “soft grounding”.
Fortunately, no injuries, pollution, or disruptions to marine traffic have been reported. Two tug boats have approached the ship, but due to limited visibility during the night, plans to refloat the vessel are postponed until Saturday morning, as stated by the U.S. Coast Guard.
