Soccer sensation Delaney Baie Pridham, known as DB, has clinched the title of Northern Super League player of the year, adding another achievement to her impressive collection. The Ottawa Rapid striker has also been recognized as the league’s top forward for the season, securing the coveted golden boot award by netting a remarkable total of 18 goals.
Pridham, a talented athlete with dual Canadian-American citizenship, was born in northern California. She stood out in the NSL by leading in both total shots taken, amassing 83 attempts, and shots on target, hitting the mark 42 times. Notably, she made history by recording the league’s inaugural hat trick in June, marking a memorable milestone in her career.
Joining Pridham in receiving accolades is Ottawa’s Jyllissa Harris, who was recently named NSL’s defender of the year. The exceptional performances of Pridham and Harris, along with their teammates Olivia Scott and Min A Lee, have earned them spots in the league’s esteemed “team of the year.”
Despite finishing as runners-up in the competitive six-team league, the Rapid showcased their prowess with 11 wins, eight losses, and six draws, totaling 39 points from 25 matches. Their next challenge awaits as they gear up to face the Vancouver Rise in a crucial home-and-home semifinal series scheduled for the upcoming week.
